Bhima Jewellery, based in Kochi, published their new commercial on YouTube for the campaign ‘Pure as love’ and it features transperson and activist Meera Singhania. The advertisement has gone viral and is winning praise.

Let me explain my opinion here. From my point of view, it’s not exactly dowry they show in the video. It’s just the way a bride is fully dressed up for her marriage. That dress up could be with or without gold or any kind of ornament. Since the purpose of their advertisement is promoting their product which is gold, they have shown it. I think they did their purpose with atmost genuine interest. I completely support this video.
PS: I think a modern generation should support this. Any conventional person will be against this advertisement since it’s a nightmare for homophobic people. They might even dislike Bhima for their bold step. So I think we should all recognise the risk they have taken here to bring up such a daring concept and support them. Just by watching gold advertisements, no one will buy gold. People who are about to buy gold, just choose among their option of gold retailers. SUPPORT FOR BHIMA.
